The 19-year ofld lad want’s to become the youngest and fastest Ironman of India.
The Ironman event consists of swimming in open water ( 3.86 kms), cycling ( 180.25 kms) and running ( 42.2 kms).
Fitness is in Viraj’s genes. His father Milan is a former National Wrestler.
Even is grandfather Vasant Singh Pardeshi wrestled internationally.
Pardeshi trains six to seven hours daily – split in two sessions - in a bid to achieve his goal.
In the morning he’s either running or cycling for two hours and in the evening he’s at the Deccan Gymkhana swimming pool for two and half hours, covering five kms.
Viraj had won representing India in modern pentathlon in Dubai in 2012.
Now, he has been selected by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India (MPFI) for the Asian Beach Games to be held in Thailand from November 17 to 21.
