Hello. The purpose of this blog is to invite opinions from experienced cyclists and test riders on how to test ride a bike and what are the different fine points one should observe and feel when test riding a bike for a short duration. It should help new cyclists to make the right choices when purchasing a bike. Here are some queries that come to my mind. Please feel free to add more.
1. Generally when test riding a bike at a store, how far does the average shop keeper allow one to ride the bike and for how long.
2. Without doing a long and strenuous ride how does one feel the ride quality in just a few minutes. For a new cyclist who comes to the shop by other means of transport and then rides a bike for a few minutes, how will he/she judge the bike's performance. New bikes generally feel nice.
3. All the brands are not available the same day for test riding so doing it on different days could cause errors in judgement.
