Indian Cyclists Network

Hi Guys, Came to know of this site when I decided to take my nephew cycling to Bandra on the 8th or March. On my way I met some members who told me about this site and asked me to join. So here I am.

Cycling was something I learnt at the age of 5 and eventually gave up when I joined Engineering. The daily routines of life took its toll and after over 10 yrs of working, I realized that I had gained a lot of weight and couldnt even decently walk a kilometer. I decided to so something about it and joined a Gym, that enthusiasm lasted for 6 months and after just losing a kilo, I gave up the gym, put on some more weight and then finally decided to do something that I was comfortable doing.

After almost 15 yrs of not cycling I decided to get on a bike and immediately realized that I for too overweight for the big, So I got back to the next best thing and that was walking and running. After a year and a half of walking and eventually running, I dropped a good 22kilos and then I got back on the cycle.

Though I must say, I never looked at cycling as a way to remain fit. I still see it as something I loved doing for the fun and speed factor. So while I still stick to my walks and runs, I definitely use the odd chances that I get to go cycling with my nephew.

Being from Goregaon, we mostly cycle in Aarey where the weather and the winding slopes makes it a fun place to ride.

I've heard of that place being good for cycling, but I've never gone there. Now that I have my cycle, how about we all do a little run there sometime soon?
