Hi Guys, I am planning to buy a helmet seen in a local sports shop at Mulund. Though it says Hamilton, for 400 Rs. I am not sure if it is. Any suggestions.

As others have mentioned, you can get a selection of prowell helmets at firefox thane

If you are going to use a helmet, might as well get one that will be effective

Is someone riding through/near powai tomorrow? send me a message!

Yep. The owner (Jose) is very helpful. Between him and Dheeraj (mentioned earlier) you should get a good idea of the available options and price ranges. And Bhiwandi is okay if you ride there early in the morning via NH3 till (say) the highway bypass junction. Just watch out for trucks and make sure you go as part of a group. Do bear in mind that the distance (to and fro) will be 30-35 km. :)

Thanks Hari, for a valuable info. I think in that case i better avoid Bhiwandi. As I haven't seen Bhiwandi in my entire life and certainly don't intend seeing it while biking :). And yes will check out at the Firefoz store in thane, unfortunately I have searched Mulund west and haven't got any good helmets out here. Is this the shop address that you referring to?

Any helmet is better than no helmet. You could also check out brands such as Prowell, B'Twin and Trek. They have variants costing between 1000 and 2500. The Firefox store in Thane is another good resource. I bought my helmet from there.

As for Bhiwandi, if you do attempt going there, please avoid the main town. I passed through it (thankfully not on my bike) last Sunday, and it was utter chaos on the streets -- road sense seemed to be completely absent. If you aren't a seasoned rider, better stick to Mumbai and Thane for now. Early morning (6-8 am) is the best time to ride.
