As I planned, I had completed my 110 Km ride on 11th (Last Sunday) from Cochin to Mangalam Dam. I would like to share my experience here.....
My cousin, Dr Jerry, and myself started at 6:30 AM (Presence of a doctor made me more more confident :). Actually we wanted to start more early, but fear of stray dogs (one of the main threat in all Indian cities) forced us to wait for good day light even we were prepared with pepper spray to protect our-self against street dogs. We had selected… Continue

In quest of green fields, coconut farms, perennial rivers, innocent people and a sea I started on my bicycle in the merry month of June towards east. It was a Friday morning and I was still in bed instead of being on my BSA MACH 20 km away from home. In haste I sprung up realizing… Continue

Dec 2, 2013.
The night prior to the ride, I was really upset about what was going on with life and all the philosophy kicked in. So, I thought of having a big ride to take my mind out of bullshit. So downloaded some good motivating upbeat music from 8tracks.com and it surely helped me get through the boring Nehru Outer ring road/ Expressway.
Checked for any loose parts on… Continue

Hello everyone!! Continue
It was one hell of a day. March the 25th.
Its been a while since the Cochin Bikers' Club members were yearning for a get-together and group ride. We knew each other. We followed, liked and commented on each others posts and ride stories. But until yesterday, only neighbors and friends did actually meet up and did rides together. Then came this event, The Evening Fun Ride, successfully organised by the CBC in a blitzkrieg…

Friday night, 24 April 2010, Inorbit Mall, Malad West... Shoppers, commuters, passersby... were all quite intrigued by the steadily growing group of cyclists assembling at the corner next to Inorbit Mall... :-)
We waited as people landed up from across the city... Oshiwara... Andheri... Santacruz... South Mumbai... Mulund... 4 people came from Mira Road... Old friends caught up... new friends were made... At 10.00pm,… Continue

Sometime in January, 2010, 0000AM
I'm cycling back from my cousin's, cycling across the vast emptiness to my left, where lie the jungles that make up fringes of Sanjay Gandhi National park. I spot something shining floating mid-air. Closer, and it turns out to be an outfit. Closer, there's a woman inside that outfit. Closer, and the woman multiplies into 5 women, queuing up on the pavement, as if it were an exhibition. … Continue

900 km in 95 hrs !!!
Hey adventure freaks, cycling enthusiasts and all those reading this, your eyes might have been widen and eye brows up. Yes! It did happen to me as well, when my friend, Extreme Yashas laid his idea about riding 900 kms alone in just 95 hours in 4 days. I wondered, he is crazy, but his craziness is what makes him so determined, and passionate about cycling.
Passion Work Wonders! His, has worked for him immensely that today, he is in the verge of enrolling his name… Continue

Good fun riding to Marine Drive yesterday...
Finally got some time off client projects and decided to go for a quick morning ride yesterday. Since Friday was Ram Navami, there was far less traffic on the roads. Weather was pretty decent too (till about 9am). I left at 6.15 am from Santacruz.
Since I'd already ridden to the central, western, eastern and northern suburbs, South Mumbai was the only way to go. I initially planned to cycle to Haji Ali and back. But once I… Continue

Life does take some strange turns... even when you are not on the saddle...
Take last week, for instance... there I was, all set to join the gang for a ride to Kanheri Caves on Sunday... wondering what route to take - do I go to the start point? join them at Sanjay Gandhi National Park? if so, go via Aarey? or take Ghodbunder Road?
And suddenly, I hit a hairpin bend - instead of heading west and north towards Kanheri Caves, I was suddenly headed east and south... towards… Continue

Yesterday was the longest ride so far for me... 82kms in total. Started from Santacruz at 6.15am. Destination was Chena Lake in Thane District. The plan was to meet up with fellow riders from Thane. Quite a few of them had met up and were waiting for a long time.
Unfortunately no one showed up from the western suburbs. And since I took 2.5 hours to reach there, most of them returned home by then after waiting patiently for long! I did get to meet Joe and the thane… Continue
