Me wanting cyclometer for fomas road king deluxe

Looking to get a cyclometer for my fomas road king deluxe.

Kalbadevi is the most convenient location for me as far as bike shops are concerned unless the differential is worth making the trip to wherever.

Needed opinions etc on what to get. The primary criteria as with everything is always "cheap and best".

It should hopefully measure distance and speed.

Prefer digital unless its completely against cycling ethics. :)

GPS not required.

Little Girl on Big Crank Small Frame Cycle at NCPA

Saw this little girl today (maybe 8-9) using a very unique cycle.

It had a non standard frame, with a HUGE Crank. She was accompanied by her dad on his scooter. I didnt end up asking him for more details. Surely she was training for something.

What bike was that about? Anyone any ideas?

Cycling with Daughter: Day 2

Today was day two of cycling on the road for my daughter. We managed to reach around 7:30 AM this time at NCPA and cycled around the block, NCPA-Trident-NCPA and 1 round upto Air India Building and another Around Trident.
All in all a leisurely 3 km or so. Got quite a few good mornings from the trident security, cops on duty etc.
Seems like everyone woke up on the right side of the bed today. Or maybe it was just the time of the week and day.

single gear virtues

so the new old wisdom tree says that we are going overboard with gears.
It goes on to say that
While a single speed gear may not suit all needs , it suits most and for those needs it is the most efficient option.

Ye or nay ?

What an original idea

Seeing my efforts towards cycling a friend of mine forwarded me this event link.

I mean to each his own, but prima facie it sounds a bit outlandish. Am i missing something here?
