"CYCLING TO WORK IN MUMBAI" ;- Peril or cheapest form of "ADVENTURE SPORTS"?

Hi Bikers,
Cycling on the streets of Mumbai at age 49 on an old ancient "Hero-Hawk" is no pleasure to the average motorists eyes nor "upwardly mobile Mumbaikar". The cycle is viewed as a poor mans form of transport if used on the roads during "Peak traffic hours" or a "Rich hobby" when used by early morning cyclists on expensive racer bikes. Commuting to work on a cycle is definitely a big "NO-NO" for any educated upwardly mobile executive or student as it is considered the cheapest mode of tran… Continue

Hi Pradip.
I have personally done "Solobackpacing trips" in India and abroad, later writing blogs on my experience for the benifit of future "Backpacker tourists". Travelling alone in either a foreign country or India is dangerous, akin to "Cycling" alone in unfamiliar terrain and country's as there is no "GROUP SUPPORT" akin to "Package Tours" or " Peloton Cycling".A person should religiously study the "Culture", "Political climate"" terrain" and "social customs" of the country's to be visited to avoid tragedies or mishaps, the rest being "Destiny".Sad about French cyclist Jean Baptist going "Missing" in India and these incidents are not rare as some foreiners have been found "Missing" during "treks' in the "Kullu Valley" and beaches of Goa.Similarly "Indian Tourists" have gone missing in Foreign country's proving that such incidents occur all over the World.Ultimately, its destiny and a thorough study of the visting country's or places that can offer a safe journey to either a "Solo Cyclist" or a "Solo Backpacker".
