Event Description

People follow three paths to good health: doctor, diet, and exercise. Our path to the doctor involves the greatest expense. However, there would be less expense, trauma, and tragedy if we prevent many of these medical problems. Unfortunately, those who decide to respond to health alerts tend to go overboard on nutrition and to adopt the wrong exercises. Therefore, we need true aerobic exercises that helps strengthen the heart, such as fast walking, cycling, jogging, swimming and skating.

The best exercise to change our sedentary habits is the one we can and will do nearly every day. Cycling exercises the heart better than walking without the pounding of jogging. One can ride a bicycle almost anywhere, at any time of the year, and at low cost.
Little or no time has to be lost, as bike travel can be used to get to work, perform errands, or enjoy the outdoors. Commuting by bike reduces pollution that causes asthma and bronchitis. A commuting cyclist is also less exposed to air pollution than a commuting motorist.
Our vision is to create awareness about Cycling and its close relation with our heart. So far in India cycle is considered as poor man's transport, rich man's hobby and medical activity for the olds.

So on February 2010, let's unite for a cause and peddle our way to a nation of healthy hearts.

Come, let's beat heart desease together.

Hi Chatura...dont know if you still part of this forum or community...!
Nevertheless I would like to congratulate you & the rest of Sport18 team for successfully seeing this thru...
As I agree with Tristan that Nationals & the Internationals should happen on the same track so that they also get some audience. Its important for a performer or an artist or a sportsperson to have spectators....I mean they live for that...So pls dont stop people from seeing the race...its rather silly...I am sure this must have been the smallest crowd the international racers were competing in front of...Spectators are an integral part of every sport...cheering & wooing is what drives them....
