Event Description

Bhramanti (A Venture for Adventure!) is undertaking a journey into the lesser traveled regions around the Jawhar region. The region is quite remote and sparsely populated although it is accessible from all sides by roads in good conditions. Jawhar is home to several tribes including the Warli tribe. Jai Vilas Palace and Bhupatghad fort are the prime attractions in the area.
Jawhar is also home to dense forests and "a million" waterfalls in the monsoons. It is a nature lovers delight. Cycling through the region is a very good way to experience what the region has to offer.

Here is a brief itinerary:
Sept 4 - Cycle from Kasara to Khodala to Jawhar (about 60 kms) - most of the ride would be through hilly regions. The gradient is easy but the terrain is full of ups and downs. Overnight stay at Jawhar.

Sept 5: Jawhar to Wada to Khodala to Kasara (about 95 kms) - the region between Jawhar to Wada to Khodala falls under thick jungles and has rolling hills. We will travel on a tempo from Khodala to Kasara if we are short of time.

Let me know if you want to join. (Costs will be borne as per actuals).

We are getting on the Kasara slow local that starts from CST at 4.05 AM and reaches Kurla at 4.35 AM and Thane at 5.03 AM. There are six of us including the two of you on this board. We start on Saturday morning, of course. Let me know if you have any questions. Regards.

I won't be attending. Need to stick to tar road for an upcoming event.
But this looks like a really great event Prasad. Why have I not done this route earlier?

This route is amazing. Had done this during Mar 2010 & the scenery around was stunning with the grand waterfall during the dry season. Can imagine this waterfall during monsoon! The good old stone bridge built during 1910 still stands strong...
