Event Description

This is a challenging ride through remote, forested and hilly areas in the Shahpur - Kasara region.

We catch the first local to Kasara (that starts form CST at 4.05 AM and reaches Kurla at 4.35 AM) and get off at Atgaon Station at 6.20 AM. From Atgaon (which is right after Shahpur), we cycle about 40 kms to Wada through the Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary. Tansa reservoir is nearby but out of bounds.
Wada to Khodala (50 kms) route is pretty unique with some long and interesting climbs (and descents!) The whole area is thickly forested and is also home to several tribes including the Warli tribe (famous for their unique paintings). We also pass through Suryamal (the highest point in Thane District) on this route.
From Khodala, we either cycle or catch a ride to Kasara Station (about 30 kms away) depending on how are doing at that point in time.
It is going to be a long, hard day. There are two confirmed participants as of now (including me). You are welcome to join.

Yes agreed Jal, it was kind of last minute....we plan to do this ride again in January - will post in advance here. It was difficult to avoid "clashes" with other events given our own constraints. However, this probably gives more options to the riders which can't be a bad thing.
